We had a treat when we went for a ride on the
Ravenglass-Eskdale railway another gloriously sunny Saturday as they were celebrating their 50th anniversary and La'al Ratty himself was on hand to greet the boys. Ben was very excited to meet Ratty, especially as he was wearing his La'al Ratty cap.
The boys also got to sit in the cab of one of the trains and the driver explained to Ben how to get the fire going and how to get steam up. Fortunately, there was no coal, so he couldn't put his new knowledge to best use!
