We also enjoyed a walk along the causeway to St Michael's Mount, a rocky island near Penzance, crowned by medieval church and castle. At high tide, the sea surrounds this island completely.

We loved everything about St. Michael's apart from the tourists... and the stairs. Great to have discovered your blog!
Oops. Just realised that this was not a photo of France's Mont Saint Michel. Strikingly similar.
All the same, there were lots of tourists and steps!
